Prof. Dr. Kochikar Ganesh Pai completed his MBBS, MS, Mch (Paediatric Surgery), FICS, FICA (USA), FIAMS and FISPU. His area of Interest includes neonatal Surgery and Pediatric Urology. Obtained his M.B.B.S (1966) & M.S. (Gen.Surg.)(1971) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and M.Ch (Pediatric Surgery) from Madurai Medical College in the year 1975. One of the first qualified (M.Ch-Ped Surg) Pediatric Surgeon to Practice the branch in the state of Karnataka. One of the first to initiate Pediatric Surgical Services in four Medical College Hospitals in the undivided South Kanara district. One of the first South Esat Asian Pediatric Surgeon to be invited as a South East Asian Guest Lecturer by Sydney Children’s Hospital Australia. He was a member of Senate Academic council and Syndicate of Mangalore University in the Year 1989. He is credited with establishing one of the best Pediatric Surgery Department in Regional Advanced Pediatric Care Center, Government Wenlock Hospital. He has been recognized as a post graduate teacher in pediatric surgery in the year 1994 and has been examiner in M.Ch (Ped. Surg.) to Manipal, Bombay, M.G.R. Medical, N.T.R Medical and Calicut Universities. He has published papers in National and International Journals and presented Papers in National and International conferences. He has written a Chapter on Nectrotizing Enteritis in the Text Book of Tropical Pediatric Surgery. He has delivered several Orations.
