His qualification includes MBBS, DNB in General Surgery and Clinical Fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplant. He is a renowned liver transplant surgeon with expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic transplants and laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeries. Throughout his professional career, Dr Karthik has been a core team member in more than 2,000 transplant surgeries, performing complex and high-risk liver surgeries with proficiency in living donor transplants. He is a pioneer in advocating for ‘organ preservation’ that has resulted in successful transplants. His areas of expertise include treatment of acute liver failures, performing ABO-incompatible transplants, swap transplants, domino transplants and split liver transplants and transplants on elderly recipients.
