A veteran in the field of Gastroenterology, Dr. Ravi R has over 25 years of experience. The Madras Medical College alumnus is a specialist in ERCP procedures. His qualification includes MBBS, MD in General Medicine, DM in Gastroenterology. He has done over 8,000 Therapeutic ERCPs for obstructive jaundice, chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic biliary cancers. He is a key opinion leader in these specialities and has trained many gastroenterologists across the country. He is also a specialist for GI Bleeding. He practices early detection and endoscopic removal (ESD) of early gastrointestinal cancers. He was the second person in the country to do a EUS-guided SEMS insertion for pancreatic necrosis and do an endoscopic pancreatic necrosectomy.
