A Senior Consultant in the Institute of Neurosciences and Spinal Disorders, Dr. Ponniah Vanamoorthy is a renowned Neuro-Intensivist who leads the Department of Neuroanaesthesiology and Neurocritical Care. His qualification includes MBBS, MD in Anaesthesiology and DNB in Anaesthesiology. An alumnus of Madurai Medical College, he has vast expertise in the sub-speciality of neurocritical care, managing complex critically ill patients with traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, polytrauma, stroke, subarachnoid haemorrhage, intracerebral haemorrhage and so on. As a neuro-anaesthesiologist, he has experience in the administration of anaesthesia and perioperative care of complex neurosurgical cases. He has a special interest in deploying multimodal neuromonitoring to accomplish an individualised approach to seeking better outcomes.
