Our life is shaped by our mind, we become what we think. And so, it’s very crucial to have great mental health to lead a healthy life. We all have a great concern about our physical health, but we never actually care about our mental health. Our mind reflects who we are. So to get a clear reflection of who we are we must keep our minds healthy. 

Almost everyone will develop at least once, a mental health problem at some point in their life. It has now become a normal thing, but what’s not normal is not confronting it. So firstly we need to have a clear idea about the symptoms.

  • Change in eating habits
  • Delusions, paranoia or hallucinations
  • Sex drive changes
  • Excessive fear, anger or extreme feeling of guilt.

It is the intense and persistent worry and fear about even the little things in life. It is characterized by fast heart rate, rapid breathing, and sweating

It is a group of mental health conditions that are characterized by an inflexible and atypical pattern of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

It is the persistent mood swings or feelings that interfere with daily life

It is characterized by failure to recover after experiencing a stressful or terrifying event.

Psychotic disorders

It is characterized by a disconnection from reality. It may occur as a result of psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia.

Eating disorders

It is the extreme emotional attitudes towards food 

Impulse disorders

It is the inability to resist urges

Our mind is something that keeps us soulful and alive. We can never enjoy anything in our life if our mind is not balanced. A healthy mind always spreads positivity, energy and takes challenges in life. We need to really take care of it, to enlighten ourselves and the world around us. 

Mental health problems always need attention. Sometimes it needs medical guidance and in such severe cases, you need to seek the help of a doctor.

Things that we can do to keep our minds healthy.

Talk

Talk about your feelings, emotions, and problems. Letting out all your worries helps you to cope with stress.

Eat well and stay healthy

Our brain needs a set of nutrients to keep it charged and healthy. Exercise regularly to boost self-esteem and concentration. Always get adequate sleep. Never forget, “ A healthy mind resides in a healthy body”.

Drink sensibly

Never use drugs and alcohol to deal with your emotions. Remember that the effect it gives you is only temporary but the damage it can cause may stay forever.

Always take a break

None of us are superhuman to work continuously. Take a few minutes or days to de-stress you.

Keep in touch

Friends and family are the divine relationships that keep us going. Always stay in touch with your friends and family

Accept who you are

We all are different in our own ways. Accept yourself, love yourself. Remember “ how can others love you if you don’t love yourself”

Keep yourself occupied

This can avoid unwanted thoughts from invading your mind. 

Get help

Seeking help never means that you are weak. It means that you are strong to not give up.

Our mind is delicate, it needs care and support. Mental health problems are so common these days that we leave them unnoticed. But try to understand yourself and others around you.

Sometimes there are people around you who require love and support. Always be there for yourself and others, sometimes an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on is all someone needs to be saved from a lifetime of depression.
